Song shares, beat license notes, and a credit list

Splitline is an indie musician business app for the paperwork around a song: who wrote it, what share each person typed, and what a beat license says. There is no account. The iOS app is not in the App Store yet. Join the waitlist. This is not legal advice.

Splitline helps keep song business notes together on one phone, so you can track split sheet details, beat license notes, and a credit list without turning it into a big process.

Split sheet notes

Use split sheet notes to type names, roles, and shares for a song in your own words. Copyright can exist automatically once an original work is fixed in a tangible medium, and the statute does not set a percentage split. For general background, see guides.

Beat license notes

Use beat license notes to save what you agreed to, whether it is a lease or exclusive in your words. A waitlist can help you keep those notes in one place before release.

Credit list and PDF

Build a credit list for master and composition shares, then export a PDF for sharing or filing with your own records.

What stays on the phone

There is no account, and you can delete local notes from the phone when you no longer want them there. The app is meant to keep your song notes local while you decide what to do next.

Not legal advice. Splitline does not grant a license, clear a sample, or pay royalties.
